W.O.W. Award 2007!!!

Sirens In Sanity dancers participated in Wiggles of the West 2007 at Boomtown in Sparks, Nevada. In the Troupe division, Sister Sirens took 1st Place and in the Duet division Almaza & Mayette took 1st Place. We do not have photos of the awards ceremony, but are thrilled with the fun we had and the success in placing. Thanks so much for your support.

In July, Sirens In Sanity competed at Wiggles of the West 2006. We participated in the Mini Ensemble division and the Alternative Soloists. We did not place in the Mini Ensemble division, but had a blast. Yasmine did take 1st place in the Alternative division. We felt very good about all of our performances and want to thank our families, Annette, Mayette, Zyprire, Cyreen & Sahalah for traveling to Boomtown to support us. Much love to you all!

People's Choice Awards Competition in Cupertino - April 2006

Saiedeh performing in the Cleopatra Category, where she placed 3rd. PC Tropies - HURRAY!!!
Saiedeh & Yasmine won 2nd place in the People's Choice vote and 1st Place in the Judges vote for the Duet category, and Saiedeh took 3rd place in the Cleopatra category....YEAH!!!!!.

Emerald Rain Competition in Oregon - March 2006

Mayette participated in the intermediate category at the Emerald Rain Competition and took 1st place. WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU MAYETTE!!!.

Emerald Rain Competition in Oregon - March 2005

Mayette participated in the teen category at the Emerald Rain Competition where she can home with a medal. YEAH!!!.

Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant 2004

Sirens Rising Troupe and Sirenesque Duet participated in the Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant, and came home with a 2nd Runner Up in each category. We are very excited about these accomplishments.

People's Choice Awards, April 2004

Almaza participated at People's Choice Awards and came home with a 3rd place trophy. Great job Almaza!

Desert Rose Belly Dance Competition, Hollister, Calif. 2002

Yasmine participated in the soloist category of the Desert Rose Belly Dance Competition, for the first time on Nov. 1st. Excitedly, Yasmine placed 3rd. 2nd place went to Una and 1st place, rightfully, went to Sabiba. The event was very fun and rewarding. Thank you Karri!

Double Crown Belly Dance Competition, Portland, Oregon 2002

Saiedeh & Yasmine, Sirens In Sanity, participated in the duet category of the Double Crown Belly Dance Competition for the first time on Sept. 28th. With much delight, they placed 2nd in their division. The event was very well presented by Zaina Hart - Thank you Zaina!

Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant 2002

Sirens Rising and Yasmine participated in the Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant, May 25 & 26, 2002. They came home with a 3rd runner up place trophy in the solo division, which Yasmine entered; and the 1st runner up trophy in the troupe division. It was definitely a fabulous year to remember!


Wiggles of the West 2001 - Belly Dance Contest!!!

In July, Sirens In Sanity competed at Wiggles of the West 2001 and won 2 trophies. We participated in the Headliner division, the Mini Ensemble division, and the Entertainer of the Year. The troupe took 1st place in the Mini Ensemble category and Saiedeh took 2nd place in the Headliner category. We felt very good about all of our performances and want to thank all our friends and family who traveled to Reno to support us. Much love to you all!


Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant - 2001!!!

On Saturday & Sunday, May 19th & 20th, - Sirens In Sanity belly dance troupe competed in the 28th Annual Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant and won 4 trophies and $400 in cash awards. The categories of the Pageant consisted of Belly Dancer of the Year (soloists), Duos/Trios of the Year, Troupe of the Year, and Grand Dancer of the Year (dancers over 45 years of age). Dancers came from as far as Puerto Rico, to compete in this Pageant, which was held at DVC in Pleasant Hill. Saiedeh, director and co-owner of Sirens In Sanity, won 1st place in the Grand Dancer division; Yasmine, also co-owner of Sirens In Sanity, made it to the finals (top 10) in the Belly Dancer of the Year division; Sirens In Sanity (Saiedeh, Yasmine & Ayana), won 1st place in the Duos/Trios division; as well as 2 Congeniality trophies, judged by their peers. Thank you Leea of Belly Dance! and all the Pageant Committee members for all your hard work. Great job!

Peoples Choice Award, April 28, 2001!!!

Sirens In Sanity performed at Peoples Choice Award 2001 in Hollister, Calif.; and we came home with the 1st place award for troupe category and best costume. YEAH!!!! We had a wonderful time and definitely look forward to next year. Thank you Karri Duke!

Pageant Award 2000!!!

On Friday night, May 26, Sirens In Sanity performed in the Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant and this year they brought home a trophy. Saiedeh and Yasmine entered in the Duet Division and won 2nd runners-up. They were so excited, it was a great honor for them. Lots of hard work went in to the routine, which was an 8 minute, 3 part piece. Sirens In Sanity Troupe also performed in the Troupe Division and did their Greek-influenced routine. While they did not win a trophy, they enjoyed the experience and learned so much from watching the competitors. This pageant is always interesting and full of talented belly dancers from all over. There were dancers from Salt Lake City and San Diego. As always, the camaraderie in the dressing room was great and the highlight was seeing their friends, Raks Sahabat, win Troupe of the Year! Their routine was elegant and fresh and was a pleasure to watch. Congratulations to all of the winners and participants, and thanks to Leea and Belly Dance! for putting on the event. W.O.W. Award 1999!!!

Sirens In Sanity is proud to say that we placed 3rd at the "Wiggles of the West Contest", held in Sparks, Nevada in July 1999. This was our first year competing and we came home with an award. We look forward to returning next year with our new troupe members. It was a great experience and we sincerely thank the Two Old Bags!!
